Traurige Nachrichten für alle ZZ Top-Fans. Dusty Hill, über 50 Jahre Bassist der Band, ist tot.
Er starb im Alter von 72 Jahren bei sich zu Hause in Houston, Texas.
Die Band veröffentlichte einen Nachruf in den Sozialen Medien:
"We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top'. We will forever be connected to that "Blues Shuffle in C.” You will be missed greatly, amigo. Frank & Billy"
Dusty Hill wurde 1949 als Joe Michael Hill geboren und fungierte auch als zweiter Sänger von ZZ Top. Billy Gibbons und Frank Beard gründeten die Band 1969, kurze Zeit später kam Dusty Hill dazu.
Eigentlich stand am 28. Juli noch ein Konzert auf dem Plan, Hill machte einen Umweg nach Hause, um sich von einer Hüftverletzung zu erholen.
