Kaum eine Band hat momentan so viel Fanarbeit zu leisten, wie Linkin Park. Die ehemalige Nu Metal-Band ist bekanntlich mit dem neuen Album „One More Light“ in eine ganz andere Richtung gegangen und muss mit viel negativem Feedback leben. Die seit Wochen andauernden Diskussionen lassen den ein oder anderen wohl etwas dünnhäutiger werden. Sänger Chester Bennington etwa ist jetzt in einem Interview der Kragen geplatzt:
„We were asked, 'What do you think of people who say you sold out?' I don’t care. If you like the music, fantastic. If you don’t like it, that’s your opinion too. Fantastic. If you’re saying we’re doing what we’re doing for a commercial or monetary reason, trying to make success out of some formula… then stab yourself in the face!”
Der zu erwartende Shitstorm hat die Band jetzt dazu bewegt etwas zurückzurudern und die Fans wieder zu beruhigen. In verschiedenen Tweets haben sowohl Mike Shinoda, als auch Chester Bennington versucht die erhitzten Gemüter abzukühlen. Wirklich glücklich dürften eingefleischte Fans mit dem neuen Album wohl trotzdem nicht werden.
